And boy, is it gorgeous. There’s been a lot of changes, and while I’d like to describe them all, a picture really is worth a thousand words. I’ve got a lot of pictures of Lion’s Arch both before and after the patch today, so let’s do a comparison to see what’s changed between before and after.
The old, busted-up bank.
The Crow’s Nest Tavern, meeting place of the Captain’s Council. Kinda small and broken.
The entrance of Lion’s Arch coming in from Gendarran Fields.
The old Black Lion Trading headquarters.
The Mystic Forge and surrounding crafting stations.
The docks of old Lion’s Arch.
The old lighthouse. Kinda leaning a bit.
Construction near Fort Marriner.
The gate plaza at Fort Marriner, leading to the Mists.
View of the construction near the capital cities’ asura gate plaza and Lion’s Court.
Deverol Island, future site of a chapel.
Construction of what will be the headquarters of the Guild Initiative.
View of the area that used to be the Mystic Plaza.
More construction near Lion’s Court.
The new Mystic Forge! You can actually jump in it and it spits you back out again.
The new area in front of the entrance from Gendarran Fields. So pretty.
The octopus shelters the new bank, and the doorway with gear designs leads to the Vaults, the new Black Lion Trading headquarters.
The new capital cities gate plaza. I love the new building architecture.
The Guild Initiative headquarters, sadly not open for business yet.
But they do have a representative outside.
Deverol Island, with the new chapel. Not as big as I was expecting.
Closeup of the chapel. Awfully pretty, I must say. And are marriages coming to Guild Wars 2?
Near Farshore Waypoint, this boss from the Queen’s Gauntlet is running around. A sign for the future?
Fort Marriner, exterior. Impressive.
Fort Marriner, interior. Here’s the gate plaza for the Mists gates.
Another exterior view of Fort Marriner.
The new lighthouse, and Ellyna Graidy is there to guide people, just like her father before her.
A new vendor where you can exchange ecto and gold for destabilized ecto. Not quite sure what the point is yet.
The Field of the Fallen, a monument to those that died in Scarlet’s attack.
The area under the water feature at the Field of the Fallen.
A skritt information broker dishing on a rumor.
The new Crow’s Nest Tavern, meeting place of the Captain’s Council.
Aerial view of the Crow’s Nest. So spacious!
The redesigned docks. Lobster docks! Lobster docks?
New view of Lion’s Court. The canopy is beautiful.
The lion statue, now located in Fort Marriner instead of Lion’s Court. I’m glad it’s better defended now.
A new trans NPC in Fort Marriner. She’s pretty great.
Bloomanoo and Peneloopee have found a new home! And they’re raising tadpoles. So precious.
On a more grim note: a Lionguard investigating a murdered sylvari. Foreboding.
But to wrap things up on a lighter note, here’s “Evon” Gnashblade. What a bum.
So there you go, folks. New Lion’s Arch is quite the place. Go check it out and explore it yourself!
